Those of you who go to bed early (or prefer Letterman) missed Barack Obama on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. This was the first time in history that a sitting President has appeared on a late-night TV show. Although Jay Leno is known for his schtick, this interview was mostly serious and Leno asked Obama serious questions about the bailout, tax policy. Of course, this is a comedy show, so there was some joking going on, and in my honest opinion Obama showed a bit of a silly side. Also, President Obama was the only guest on the show (except for musical guest Garth Brooks). For those of you that missed it, a clip from the show is embedded below. I’m sure NBC will have the full episode up in no time, though.

It wasn’t to my enjoyment … I watched, although it took a very big piece of my soul to do so.
You know I’m not a big fan of Barack (or Brooks LOL) but I think he presented himself very well under the conditions, and I think Jay did a good job of making it more of a politico interview rather than a joke-fest.
In the end though, I still don’t think Obama knows what is going on yet – but … we are in the first days of his presidency so I must give him credit and we should all look forward (regardless of our opinions) to what he may be able to do.
I watched some of it last night – inbetween catnaps! I think he held his own. He is a very articulate man with a sense of humor. He is trying to dig us out of 7 years of stupidity…it’s not going to be easy & he’s just a mere mortal…
