Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most preeminent geniuses of all time. His imagination was so far ahead of his time that even today some of his inventions would still be usable (take for instance, the multi-barreled machine gun at right). This amazing device was actually invented in 1480, nearly 400 years before machine guns showed up on the battlefield.
