15 Da Vinci War Machines
By
Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most preeminent geniuses of all time. His imagination was so far ahead of his time that even today some of his inventions would still be usable (take for instance, the multi-barreled machine gun at right). This amazing device was actually invented in 1480, nearly 400 years before machine guns showed up on the battlefield. One ingenious thing that sets this apart from the models of the future, though, “By widening the field of fire, the fan-like shape of Da Vinci’s prototype made it a potentially effective weapon against a line of advancing troops.” Hit up the link below to see 14 more of Da Vinci’s pieces of genius.
